Established in 1981 as a non-profit organization, Arcadia Chinese School was instituted for the purpose of promoting the Chinese language and culture to improve inter-ethnic understanding and to achieve harmonious inter-ethnic relations. Its impact in serving the Los Angeles/Arcadia community has been so significant throughout these years that it has been able to stretch beyond its boundaries to form two other branch locations in Los Angeles/Temple City
The school offers extensive Saturday classes mainly focusing on Chinese instruction. For the weekly after school sessions, the school not only hires teachers from China and Taiwan to teach our current and future generation a language that is and will become a great importance in society, but also brings in quality instructors from well-acclaimed universities of the states to prep and assist students in English, mathematics, social studies, and sciences.
To give children the opportunity to expand on their intrinsic skills in knowledge other than learning the Chinese language, the school also conducts various Chinese folk arts, such as poems that teach ethics and morals of being a good child, folk music, dancing, Tae Kwon Do, Chinese painting, Chinese calligraphy, Art & Crafts, and Chinese Yo-Yo. Our Chinese teachers also implement Chinese history into their lesson plans as well.
We gladly welcome anyone who is 4 years and older regardless of race, religion, sex, and age to join our school and become part of the great family.
